Name: Lachlan Joyce
Job title: Professional Development Facilitator
Division: Talent, Capability and Culture – Learning and development – P&C
Location: Medibank Place, Docklands
Where did you work before Medibank? Colonial First State as a Training Facilitator.
What’s your most memorable career moment to date? My entire career in the learning and development space to date (speaking very broadly, I know). I have been able to contribute and witness the professional development for so many individuals over the years and I look forward to many more to come.
What attracted you to a role at Medibank? I had heard really positive stories around the culture, energy and vibe from Medibank.
Equally, I was excited about the impact and contribution I could make through high impact learning solutions.
What is the first thing you do when you start a new job? Get to know the team and key stakeholders as well as learn the business, strategy and processes/protocols.
What was your first paid job? Sales Consultant at David Jones.
What do you spend time doing when not working? A number of key activities include: Reading, writing, massage, learning, movies and TV, dining out, socialising and laughing at cat memes (one of my favourites).
What is something that not many people know about you? I got stuck on one of the famous statues of four lions in Trafalgar Square. Once I was up there, I realised I couldn’t easily get down which lead to a little terror – I had a number of people talk me / help me down.
What does ‘For Better Health’ mean to you? To strive to learn new ways to have a healthier mind, body and soul, as well as share that with those I know.
