Our employees give better

Christine Cox, PNIC Program Manager, and her team participated in a working bee hosted by the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation at Debney Meadows Primary School in Flemington.

To mark National Volunteer Week, we would like to say a big thank you to each and every Medibank employee who has volunteered for community service in schools, sports, arts, health, and community organisations all around Australia as part of our I give better program.

“It is wonderful to see our people bring Medibank’s purpose For Better Health to life in the community.” said Karen Oldaker, GM Community and Wellbeing. Not only are volunteers helping make the lives of everyone around them happier, they too are happier as a result. Research tells us that just a few hours of volunteer work makes a difference in people’s happiness. It’s proven that volunteers are happier, healthier and even sleep better than those who don’t volunteer.

At Medibank, we want to empower our people to be advocates of health and wellbeing in the communities where they live and work.  We offer all employees access to eight hours of community leave and dollar-for-dollar donation matching of up to $1,000 a year per employee.
