Our purpose For Better Health includes a focus on Indigenous Australia. We are proud to have successfully completed our third Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), marking the occasion with a celebration at Medibank Place.
The public 2014-16 RAP outlines the successful completion of 22 actions the business committed to fulfilling, as our contribution to the reconciliation effort.
Our people have driven the delivery of our commitments and the event was a great opportunity to thank all the teams who contributed. The celebration included a Welcome to Country, from Auntie Georgina (pictured, alongside our Indigenous Intern Jaz) as well as entertainment by Indigenous musician, Benny Walker, over morning tea from Dreamtime Tukka who provided some treats.
With Indigenous health equality at its core, our fourth RAP will remain firmly focused on working together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. The 2017 RAP Consultation and Engagement Strategy will now begin, and we will work with internal and external stakeholders to design the next set of commitments. Medibank’s fourth RAP is scheduled to be launched next March as part of a broader Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advancement Strategy.
