Last weekend, building on our continued support of our partnership with parkrun (Australia’s largest running community), over 20,000 Australians joined Medibank in celebrating Personal Better Day 2016 – all part of our ongoing commitment to improving the health of communities, nationwide.
The National initiative was supported by 35 local Medibank Retail store teams, who were on hand at events across the country to cheer on runners and chat with their communities about Medibank’s commitment to better health and great-value health cover. The initiative also saw over 3,000 new parkrun registrations in the seven days leading up to Personal Better Day!
As part of the celebrations, Australia’s favourite fitness trainer and Medibank ambassador, Michelle Bridges, led our contingent at the local event in Rhodes, NSW. Michelle also crossed to Seven’s Sunrise program, championing the inclusive message of Personal Better Day and highlighting Medibank’s parkrun partnership.
Now in its fifth year, parkrun Australia holds free, timed 5km events every Saturday morning in parks and open spaces across the nation. They enable runners of all ages and abilities to get more active – from walkers or first-timers, to experienced runners and athletes.
With 182 regular locations across the country, parkrun Australia is a community of over 235,000 everyday champions, making fitness about fun. To find your nearest parkrun location – and to learn more – visit personalbetter.com.au
