With the 2016 employee Shine Awards just around the corner, Jennifer shares a few moments with us as a winner from last year’s Awards.
Jennifer Oakley knows all too well the importance of having a solid team surround her in order to do her job the best she can. As Head of Investigation, she is in charge of “managing the identification, prevention and investigation of fraud, waste and error across ancillary provider and member reviews through the Payment Integrity program”. It is a challenging role that keeps her on her toes, making sure she is one step ahead of any issues in order to resolve them in the first instance.
“I am very fortunate in that I get to work with a team of extremely talented individuals in an environment where no two days are ever the same and the challenges never stop.”
Without a doubt her colleagues feel the same about her because they nominated her for the Results Driven (previously Performance Driven) award in 2015, which she won. Jennifer says that when she discovered she was one of the nominees of the award, she was surprised and flattered, and felt it was not just a personal but also a team achievement.
“I see the award as recognition of the achievements of the team, the team achieved amazing change across the industry. I feel incredibly proud to lead them.”
With a job like hers, it is important to stay balanced in life to make sure she is emotionally, physically and mentally recharged for a new week.
“When I’m in relaxed mode, you will find me at the beach, either walking my dog or attempting to show my girls how I have mastered falling off the stand-up paddle board!”
With her passion for her work and the added boost of winning the Results Driven award, Jennifer can honestly say that at Medibank, “i balance + laugh better”.
