As a Team Coach for the Cover Review and Retention teams in Customer Connect, Stacey Poorter carries the important job of coaching teams and exploring their areas of development. She helps make sure that they reach their full potential and in doing so, helping them to deliver the best customer experience to Medibank customers. Her days are spent working with team members, setting goals and together, figuring out new ways to achieve them.
“I love helping people and am also very passionate about customer service. For some, great customer service comes naturally but others need a helping hand. I love being that support.”
Stacey says seeing individuals grow in the business under her guidance and coaching is something that she loves.
“Seeing individuals acknowledge their areas of development, really take ownership, happily work with me to become better agents and then see them flourish has been the best experience.”
Although her role is to coach individuals, a job like hers is also something that requires a lot of support.
“Medibank has always provided a huge amount of training and support to help me develop in my role in order to be the best I can be. Anytime I have needed help with development, I have always had the support and tools provided to help me achieve my goals.”
The company culture at Medibank is professional, supportive and fun. The idea that the workplace should promote constant support and guidance to its employees is something that is continuously present at Medibank.
“I have developed so many close friendships personally and professionally since working at Medibank, which makes coming to work all the more worthwhile.”
Just like the individuals that she coaches, Stacey also has her own goals, which Medibank encourages her to work towards.
“Medibank provides regular one on one meetings with my manager during which we discuss ways of improving and doing my job better. I’ve also been given the opportunity to work in a six month Coach the Coach program that will help develop my skills as a coach.”
Stacey says the love she has being a part of Medibank goes beyond just enjoying the work she does. It has also helped her develop as a person.
“I am a stronger and more confident person than I was before I started at Medibank. I am forever thankful to be able to work in a position and company that makes me want to get out of bed every day and come to work.”
